Now don't get me wrong! I love....LOOOOOVVVVEEE---my life! I am blessed beyond belief. And while I could pray for more hours in the day I know that I would only find things to fill those hours with. I just thank God each day that I have enough energy to get through what I have on my plate now!
Ok..enough about that!
So last week was our fourth week of school---yes 4th!!!! We have finally gotten our routine down and literacy stations and math rotations are going smoothly. I have a chatty group this year and I was a little worried about how much talking was going on during their station rotations but when I took a step back to see what they were so chatty about I found that they are actually ON TASK! They are talking about what they are doing...they are just a bit too loud. So after a little refresher on what our voices are supposed to sound like in stations we are back on track. I also took time to watch a few videos on Guided Reading and Math Stations I found on YouTube. I picked up a few little tricks from these amazing ladies that have made a HUGE difference in how they run! SO we are right on track! Here we are last week!
Our iPad program has taken off like a rocket! These kids are eating it up! Talk about little tech geeks! They will do just about any activity I ask them to do if I somehow incorporate the iPad into it! They love it!
Over the past three weeks we have worked on getting our iPad License and learning all the ins and outs of the iPad. We now all have our iPads individualized with the students pictures as home screens. We also got all our apps into folders and learned how do all the iPad basics like turning it off and on! I know seems like it's so simple but really it was necessary!
I am very proud of my firsties! They are so responsible with their iPads.
This wee marks our venture on TAKING PICTURES of stations when we finish! The goal of this is two fold. Once they get used to completing an activity in a station and taking a picture of the finished center they will learn how to email me the picture. This will give me photo documentation for their portfolios. They will also be set up to email their parents during the day snippets of what they are learning.
Soon after we get this down we will start blogging. My hope is that before the Christmas break we are all set up with our student blogs and they are sharing their daily experiences with their friends (classmates only) and family! HOW EXCITING! We will use our blogs to work on our writing as well!
Ok. It has been a crazy four weeks and I totally am trying to get to all the wonderful ideas I have written down for blog posts. I....MUST.....JUST......DO.....IT!
Mother duty (hahaha I said duty) calls again! Off to help daughter cook her desserts for school tomorrow! It never ends...TOOTLES!
